Where to go & where to rent equipment for Prematura National Park?
Kap Kamenjak is the very peak at the nature park in Prematura which has a Dinosaur track. Beautiful place to hiking or taking a mountain bike tour along the coastline with plenty of amazing beaches, crystal clear water and exceptional views.
While staying at gorgeous Pješčana Uvalain Pula right next to the beach to relax and dive for a couple of days, I took the bus for a 15-minute ride, which cost 2€ to the Premantura centre.
From here, I enjoyed a good breakfast and walked over to the mountain bike rental; for the day it cost me 12 € + 4 € for a comfy gel saddle (highly recommended!!) - do not forget your ID. For more info on where to rent a bike from, E-bike tours and more adventures at Prementura National Park, click here or scroll down to a list of the best stores to rent from, book adventures, campsites and find the most beautiful beaches.
The entrance fee for bicycles and by foot is free and vehicles start at 5€/per day to have a closer look, purchase tickets and find more info about protected areas or take a virtual walk click here.
The track which follows the coastline of the peninsula is about 20 km long and filled with nature, beautiful beaches and lots of entertainment, such as kayaking, diving, beach bar entertainment, snorkel adventures, a campsite, caves and cliffs to jump off into the crystal clear water and if you are lucky, you get to see dolphins.
You may hear me saying this for the first time! Still, I have to admit: "Shoes are recommended. Don't go on a bike with your sandals on those rocky roads. Plus, water and beachwear are essential when coming here. Luckily, the roads are marked quite well, and it is not easy to lose track.
The Dinosaur Track begins the tour and takes about 60 minutes by foot.

My Favourite Beaches
Beach Uvala Školjić - with the Windsurf Station Premantura directly on site, with daily renting offers and a snack bar around the corner.
Beach Plovanije - the beach is close to the beginning of the bicycle track and is great to take a dip before heading down to the very peak of Kap Kamenjak. To learn more about the beautiful nature of this unique part of Istria, have a look here.
Cliffs & Caves of Kamenjak - I was told “jump of the cliff if you are bold enough” I said maybe next time! What about you would you take a jump from here? The views from here are fantastic and just a few steps from the Safari Bar.
Beach Lokva - Lokva is a natural and rocky beach with shallow water and in a relaxed location.
Following the Dinosaur Pass by mountain bike is the first rocky bit of road, but it is much fun.
The road takes you along the coastline, offering stunning views and crystal-clear water down to the very peak of Kap Kamenjak, where the Safari Bar is located.
The Safari Bar is built into a little jungle of corn plants, which provide shade and contribute to a pleasant climate even on hot days. The seating is made from wood and looks self-made; a significant slide runs in the middle of the winding restaurant, swings, and a slackline round up the entire place that's built like a labyrinth into the greenery, which lies 50 m above the sea. This little hidden gem is popular with tourists and locals and is easily reachable by all sorts of vehicles and on foot.
A cave is right down from the Restaurant, and of course, jumping off the cliff is the recommended pre-dinner activity :)
***last update: February 2026 - (at the moment is the safari bar closed but should reopen with the new summer season which usually is starting by end of April.
