The Heaven's Gate

The Heavens Gate at Tianmen Mountain
The Heaven’s Gate is reachable by Tianzi Mountain Cable Car, the longest passenger cableway recognised as a world record till 2018. It’s a pretty wild ride high over the Tianmen Mountain tops, a windy and shaky ride shared by six passengers.
Beautiful walkways are set up and well taken care of. Glass bridges and walks are spread all over this stunning Nature Park. No wonder it is part of the Wulingyuan Scenic Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Tianmen Shan Big Gate Road measures 11 km in length and takes 99 Turns to the mountain top. It is indeed just the beginning of a fantastic adventure to the Gate to Heaven. The park is nicely taken care of, clean as can be, like every other tourist spot in China. Glasbridges and walkways are installed; the views here are breathtaking and unforgettable. The air seems thin but tastes cleaner than in the packed and bustling mega city of China.
For those who are not afraid of heights, I can highly recommend taking the Cable Car directly from the Dayong Road in Tianmen Shan centre.
It is a wild ride high over the mountaintops, windy and so high up that it seems the clouds are passing by, the air is fresh and cold. And the cable cars are passing the pillar-shaped mountain tops tremendously close - this ride is not for the fainthearted. The view is incredible, and the windy road and 999 steps on the Stairway to Heaven await you here in Zhangjiajie.
